Sometimes the pressure of work, school, family or bills can add stress and/or anxiety to your life. Stress is not a bad thing. It is a human mechanism instilled in us as the fight or flight syndrome that we inherited as ancient man. It was a survival mechanism that helped us to survive during challenging times. Too much stress can be harmful to our minds and bodies.
Currently we get stressed for other reasons. We get stressed because we feel that we need to get stuff done in a hurry. Or that we feel the need to be perfect. We may feel that we are not good enough or that we are not doing enough. Relax…
How you start your day has a huge impact on how you will perceive the day. I start the day with a guided meditation so that I am focused and aligned. Meditation is a great way to calm the nerves, focus and bring clarity.
After meditation, I listen to positive messages whether that be in music, videos or podcast. That will set the intention for the day.
Here are some ways that has helped me to relax and relieve stress/tension:
- Exercise
- Meditate
- Read
- Listen to music
- Eat well – healthy foods
- Hang out with friends
- Take a bath
- Take a walk, especially in nature
- Play with your pets (if you have them)
Another way to destress is to declutter. Cut out all unnecessary objects which may include people. Be grateful for where you are and what you have. Gratitude is the key to eliminating stress.
Remember that life is a journey and not a race. There is no finish line. Just relax and enjoy the moment.
I also like to use CBD oils as a natural to alleviate stress and anxiety.
