If you’ve never been to Miami, now is the time to go. Miami is full of culture, friendly fit people, fantastic food and unique shopping. Spend the day shopping in Little Havana or sun bathing at one of their many beautiful beaches. I’ve always wanted to go to Miami and finally manifested the most perfect vacation. Although December doesn’t sound like a good time to go, the weather was perfect the ocean was warm. The Christmas lights were an added bonus. Here are a few details of my trip.
The stay at Private Oasis at Arya was an awesome experience with clean, modern rooms and a delicious breakfast buffet. It was located in the Bay Area of South Beach Miami not far from the actual beach. The pool area was located on the 8th floor and had fantastic views of the surrounding bay. Parking was included with the stay which saved on parking fees.
South Beach is located in Miami and is accessible by a toll road if driving but you also run or bike. There’s plenty of parking in the several parking structures for a fee. If driving, be prepared for slow traffic but you won’t mind with the gorgeous views. Parking ranges from a couple of dollars per hours on up. There’s plenty of food options but it’s easier to bring your own food. Just don’t feed the birds unless you want to be surrounded by them. Activities range from biking to roller blading to frisbee or you can just soak up the sun and people watch.
Another location to visit is Little Havana...
Enjoy Cuban music while you shop at unique shops. There’s plenty of Cuban style food including the famous Cuban sandwich. Don’t forget to try the Cuban coffee which is guaranteed to wake you up.
When visiting Miami in December, it’s best to dress in layers. The mornings are chilly but it quickly warms up. Shorts with a sweater and comfy shoes are the most practical but if you want to make a fashion statement, this is the place to do it. South beach is filled with thong wearing, Speedo covered people so make sure you pack yours.
As a first time traveler on Frontier Airlines, it was good. The tickets were decently priced with no flight changes. Although it was a cramped flight, it was pleasant. After mastering the art of sleeping upright, I was able to catch a few z’s. Face masks wee required throughout the entire flight and was non-negotiable since it’s a federal requirement. Snacks and drinks were available for purchase or you could bring your own smelly food onto the plane (please don’t).
I will definitely visit South Beach again soon since it’s one of my favorite places to visit.
