We take care of everyone around us but we forget to take care of ourselves. We need to take care of ourselves which is so important right now due to what’s going on in the world. Although we are spending a lot of time at home, we still need to take care of ourselves at home. It’s important to take care of yourself because you can’t pour from an empty cup. Pour yourself some warm tea and read on.
Eating right – The worst thing you can do is start to eat bad. Eating fried greasy processed foods is going to make you feel sluggish and will compound your funk. Eating fresh nutrient dense foods will give you the energy you need to bounce out of your slump.
Get some sleep – So many people are sleep deprived. Get a good nights rest. Turn off electronics 30 minutes before bed. Set a sleep schedule that is at least 7 to 8 hours a night.
Create boundaries – There are no boundaries with kids and friends/ family. People are always trying to pull from you. Right now, you need time for yourself so you can have time for others. Be able to say no to people.
Do things that you enjoy. Go to a park, festival or travel. Make this your priority. Whether it be once a week or once a month, set the time for you. Put aside time and money for this. Make a budget.
Meditation – Add meditation to your morning routine. Take time in the morning to clear your mind. Do not reach for the electronics. Take at least 10 minutes to meditate.
