Letting go is an art. It is a method that has to be practiced over and over, eventually mastered. I think it is necessary for a healthy mind and healthy life. It is the act of forgiving people including yourself.
“Letting go” is letting go of:
- Limiting beliefs
- How you thought your life should be
- What people think you should be
- Anything that negatively affects you or does not serve you in a positive aspect
- Any negative people, thoughts, distractions or actions
- Grudges
- What people think
These are just a few things to consider but letting go of these things has brought me peace and clarity. Once you are able to let go and not allow your emotions to control you, you will experience a peace of mind.
I’ve learned to let go through daily meditation, reading positive messages, listening to motivational audio, hypnosis and daily affirmations.
Daily Meditation:
Meditating daily or meditation is challenging and it may not feel as if you are doing it correctly or accomplishing anything. It is the act of being the moment. It is the act of observing yourself and your mind without being distracted or interrupted. Guided meditations have helped me to meditate. You can start off with 5 minutes and eventually work your way up to what works for you. For some people, that may be 10 minutes or 20 minutes. My meditations vary depending on the day and what I feel my body needs.
Reading Positive Messages:
What you expose your mind to has a huge impact on how you perceive your life. If you are constantly viewing negativity in the form of the news or movies, that will negatively impact your mind. Read a few pages from a motivational book daily. This will help to elevate your mood and raise your frequency.
Motivational Audio:
There are tons of motivational audio. The best time to listen to this type of audio is in the morning. When you first wake up, your brain is more susceptible to those messages. I listen to positive audio books/speakers in the morning while getting ready.
Hypnosis:
One of the ways that humans learn other than repetition is through hypnosis. Our brain is mainly operating at the sub-conscious level which is why commercials trigger us to buy. Although we may have seen the commercials numerous times, we learn the jingles and then we eventually buy the product.
Hypnosis digs into the brain to throw out any limiting beliefs. I have used hypnotherapy to throw out limiting beliefs that were hindering me from moving forward.
Daily Affirmations:
Daily affirmations are a great way to remind yourself that you are a powerful being that will and can achieve your goals. I write my daily affirmations on my bathroom mirror with a dry erase marker. This not only makes me write it, see it but feel it. I am constantly reminded every time I look in the mirror of my daily affirmations. These affirmations are updated weekly or whenever I am “guided” to update them.
