What does that mean? That means cutting out all of the procrastination and excuses so that you can get stuff done. It means taking action today so that your future self will benefit tomorrow.
Now is the best time to start. Start that project, begin that workout routine or read that book. Begin today by exercising for at least 30 minutes. Start that business or write that book. Now is the best time to start/stop anything.
Here are somethings that you can do now that your future self will thank you for…
Exercise – start with a 30 minute walk or jog, 3 times a week and gradually increase to daily. Buy some light weights and add them to your workout routine (Drs’ approval of course).
Meditate – your mind will appreciate the quiet moments while focusing on being present in the moment. Meditation helps with clarity and focus. It may be difficult to focus at first but it will get easier. It’s not about completely quieting the mind but about being in the present.
Eat something healthy – healthy food doesn’t make you feel sluggish or bloated like processed foods. Add green veggies and tons of fruit to your diet. Don’t forget to hydrate. Drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
Journal – journaling helps to collect and organize your thoughts. It can be used to document your progress or just write down any positive moments that you’ve experienced throughout the day.
Read – I have tons of books that I have not read but can’t let go of. Try to read at least one book a month and when you’re done, give the book away.
Don’t buy that – don’t spend money on impulse buys like clothes. There’s no need to buy more clothes. I’m guilty of spending money on items that I don’t need. I’ve recently got in the habit of waiting 24 hours to buy something. If I’m still thinking about the item and it has functionality, then I can buy it.
Don’t eat that – put down the bag of chips, your pants will thank you lol. There are so many times, for me, that a few pieces turned into a snaccident. The best thing is to drink some water because sometimes, you’re not hungry, you’re actually thirsty.
Let it go – stop thinking about the past and what you’ve could have done to change it. Live in the moment and do what you can to make tomorrow better. The past is gone, the future doesn’t exist and the only moment is now.
Go out in nature – take more walks. I utilize the walking trails in my area which has tons of trees but most importantly fresh air.
