The greatest love affair that you’ll ever have is with yourself. What you dislike about yourself is the ceiling as to how much you can love someone else. Learn to love yourself unconditionally and you will love others unconditionally.
You will see your best friend and your worst enemy when you look at your reflection in the mirror. You are your worst critic and also number one fan.
If you don’t like your body, mind or actions, that dislike, is the ceiling as to how much you can love yourself but luckily that can change. Start loving every aspect of you by talking to yourself as you would with someone else. We tend to treat strangers better than we treat ourselves sometimes. Talk to yourself like someone you love.
Here are some ways to love yourself more…
1. Encourage yourself and trust yourself. Trust that you know what’s the best thing for you and most importantly trust the universe, trust the process.
2. Hug yourself. I know this sounds weird but it works. Tell yourself that you love yourself. Say something positive about your body or about how you handled a situation.
3. Give thanks to your body and it’s abilities. Your body does so much for you. Thankit by giving it plenty of rest and recuperation.
4. Be the nurturing mother, father, friend to yourself. Tell yourself that it’s ok or it’s not as bad as it seems. It’s to make mistakes and it’s normal to experience low times. Without the low points, we can’t appreciate the high points.
5. This is probably the hardest thing for me but try not to judge yourself or try to love your inner critic. Listen to your inner critic but don’t let them rule your mind.
6. Feed yourself healthy food that makes you feel good. For healthy food recipes such glowing skin smoothie, click the link below.
7. Take time to relax and enjoy the moment. Put your phone down and take a break from all electronics. Take a walk in nature, get some fresh air and enjoy the moment.
8. Practice meditation. This is a game changer. You can’t silence the mind but you can control how you react. Meditation helps to focus on the present while getting rid of anxiety and depression. They are feelings related to living in the past and worrying about the future.
9. Forgive yourself. We all make mistakes but the biggest mistake is to continue to punish ourselves for them. Acknowledge the mistake, thank it for the lesson and move on. Life is too short to be spent agonizing over something that occurred years ago.
